    What I would really like to know is: how does a magnetar, if it is a form of neutron star, actually maintain a magnetic field at all?
    As I understand magnetism, it is a force which results from the movement or alignment of eletrons. If a neutron star is composed entirely of neutrons, and no free electrons, how is a magnetic field produced?
